Dr. Cengizhan Kurt is an orthopedic and traumatology specialist known for combining his extensive clinical experience with biomechanical research, particularly in the pursuit of innovative solutions for bone, joint, and soft-tissue surgery. From the early stages of his career, he focused on biomechanical loading, fracture models, and implant behavior; this focus later formed the basis of his scientific interest in the orthopedic applications of additive manufacturing technologies. His internationally indexed studies on the use of alternative biomaterials in femoral neck fractures, finite element analyses in the repair of meniscal root tears, and the biomechanical characterization of challenging clinical conditions such as osteogenesis imperfecta represent key examples of Dr. Kurt’s contributions to orthopedic biomechanics. In particular, his SSCI-indexed work on the performance of PEEK screws in femoral neck fractures and his biomechanical evaluation studies in meniscal surgery demonstrate his innovative approach to analyzing solid tissue behavior through computational methods. Additionally, his interests in additive manufacturing include patient-specific implant design, numerical modeling of biomaterial behavior under load, and the adaptation of 3D-printing technologies to trauma practice. The complex fracture patterns, deformity corrections, and soft tissue–bone interface problems he has encountered in his clinical experience highlight the significant potential of additive manufacturing in providing personalized design, rapid prototyping, and functionally optimized geometries. Through national and international conference presentations, he has shared his experience in deformity surgery, external fixator applications, upper extremity peripheral nerve surgery, and foot and ankle disorders. In recent years, he has continued to publish research in high-impact journals, focusing on biomechanical modeling, implant behavior, and fracture stability. Dr. Kurt’s multi-authored book chapters and SCI/SSCI-indexed articles position him as a productive researcher at the intersection of clinical orthopedics and experimental–computational biomechanics.
