Stefano Papa is mechanical engineer, product designer and professor of technical drawing. Since 2003, as Research Fellow and Contract Professor, he conducts activity of Research and Development on behalf of many Institutional Laboratories and activity of Teaching of Industrial Technical Drawing and Computer Aided Design for different Academic and Secondary Schools, Masters, official Institutions and industrial companies. He has been thesis advisor of several undergraduate students. His main interests cover the area of Additive Manufacturing, Product Design and Engineering, CAD-CAE Systems, Virtual Prototyping and Digital Twin, Reverse Engineering, Virtual and Augmented Reality, Ergonomics, Assembly/Disassembly Design, Maintainability Design, Engineering Education, Teaching and Training. In 2022 he has achieved the National Scientific Habilitation for Associate Professor.
He achieved his Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering with full marks in 2003 at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Naples Federico II with the Thesis: “Reconstruction of the shape and analysis of the variations of a High Speed Craft hull by means of Reverse Engineering techniques”. In 2006 he received the Ph.D. in "Aerospace, Naval and Quality Engineering" at the University of Naples Federico II with the Thesis: "Virtual Reality in Transportation Design”. In 2007 he earned the Yacht Design Master at the Quasar Institute - Design University, Roma (Italy) with the thesis “Design and development of the sailboat Komod 36, 36-foot Day Cruiser”. Since 2008 Stefano Papa is McNeel Europe Authorized Rhinoceros Trainer.
