Osman Bodur, MSc. is a Project Manager in R&D at the Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien), Austria. He holds a doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering from TU Wien, and has over a decade of experience leading research-driven product developments and manufacturing innovations.
His core expertise spans additive manufacturing (3D printing), precision dimensional metrology, and smart manufacturing systems. He has successfully managed interdisciplinary teams and industrial collaboration projects, deploying techniques such as computed tomography (CT), coordinate measuring machines (CMM), high-resolution 3D scanning, and laser interferometry to verify and optimize miniaturized mechanical components.
Among his notable achievements is his leadership in the development of an innovative 5G-enabled autonomous mobile robot project, the GigaBot Project, which explores next-generation smart manufacturing solutions via ultra-low latency communication and robotics control. Additionally, he spearheaded the design of a smart medical-laser safety glasses solution, securing significant external funding under industrial-academic cooperation.
Dr. Bodur also teaches advanced courses on CAD/CAM/CAQ integration, production metrology, and quality systems aligned with ISO standards. Through his work, he aims to push forward the boundaries of additive manufacturing and digital production, contributing to sustainable, high-precision industrial solutions worldwide.
